Another RS2477 Loss for Utah's Kane and Garfield Counties

Yesterday, the Tenth Circuit upheld a lower court decision that Kane and Garfield Counties were wrong in their assertion of rights to multiple roads within the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.

This is good news for future management of the monument, though it's assured we haven't seen the last of either county in their on-going exercise in futility to attempt to control federally owned and managed lands.  These shenanigans range from ill-advised lawsuits such as this one to activities that include tearing down federal signs and putting up their own county signs in their place, which is also the subject of litigation.
