2009 Gifts Campaign continues- Donate now!

Wildlands CPR's 2009 Gift Campaign kicked off in August and is still running! Our goal is $40,000 which will help support a run of recent successes-but not without your support!

You can donate securely here.

Celebrating our 15th anniversary, this Gift Campaign supports our work establishing the Legacy Roads Initiative: new and unprecedented funding Congress allocated to the Forest Service for watershed restoration nationally, to the tune of almost $90 million over the past two years, and $100 mllion proposed for 2010. Funding for watershed restoration has always been an obstacle (read, very little has been available) and thanks to our stellar WA staff Sue Gunn and the coalition she is leading, we are hurdling that obstacle with Legacy Roads. On the ground, this funding in 2009 ($50 million to the Forest Service) is projected to result in 1,326 miles of system and non system roads reclaimed, 566 miles of stream habitat enhanced, and 65,177 acres of watershed improved (at a minimum)!

Our Transportation Policy work is also stronger than ever. Led by two of the finest activists around, Adam Rissien (MT ORV State Coordinator) and Laurel Hagen (UT ORV State Coordinator), with firm backing from our legal expert Sarah Peters, cross country travel will be largely eliminated on ALL national forests by the end of 2010. (Our goal in 2003 was to see 50% of cross country travel stopped.)

So, celebrate our 15 years with us and kick off this kick-A work!
